CURRENT STATE OF SAND-LITORAL ECOSYSTEMS OF THE NORTHERN BLACK SEA, IDENTIFICATION OF THREATS AND RISKS TO THEIR EXISTENCE AND DEVELOPMENT OF MEASURES FOR THEIR FOLLOWING CONSERVATION

Prospects for further implementation in 2021 – 2022: will be completed as applied;

Research level: unparalleled in the region

Availability of a patent: No

What additional actions requires further research:

– improvement of environmental legislation;

– stable financing of the activities of the Black Sea Biosphere Reserve of NASU

Brief characteristics, advantages, further application perspective.

The purpose of the planned studies is to determine the most dangerous threats and risks for the unique natural complex of the Black Sea coastlines. Based on the results of retrospective data, geomorphological studies using GIS, as well as zoological and botanical studies, the natural and anthropogenic components of the dynamics of the development of littoral ecosystems in the region of the Black Sea Reserve and their predicted further changes will be determined. Based on the identification of threats and risks of the existence of sand-littoral natural complexes in the future, it is possible to determine the optimal use of natural resources and develop measures for their further sustainable development and conservation. The results of the implementation of this topic are important in the development of a program for the preservation of the unique psammophytic-littoral natural complexes of the reserve, in the formation of programs of urgent environmental measures to ensure conditions for the safe living of the population and to stop the degradation of natural resources (Regional program “Ecology-2020”).
