The previously proposed methods for diagnosing staphylococcal endocarditis are not reliable enough due to the relatively low sensitivity and specificity. With the help of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, specific antibodies to teichoic acid Staphylococcus aureus Wood 46 were identified. The diagnostic method provides express diagnostics of staphylococcal endocarditis.
The method is developed on the basis of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay using teichoic acid Staphylococcus aureus Wood 46 as an antigen to detect specific antibodies in the blood serum of patients with staphylococcal endocarditis.
The method in comparison with analogues:
- requires much less time;
- is technically simple;
- is characterized by high sensitivity and specificity.
The development is intended for correct and reliably correct diagnosis of endocarditis of staphylococcal etiology.
