The purpose of the event is to inform potential applicants about new topics included in the work program of the EU Missions for 2021.
EU Missions are new to the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Agenda 2021-2027, which aims to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing our societies.
With this work program, the Commission launches the first full-fledged research and innovation activities that will launch the mission into the implementation phase.
Actions include direct support for key EU priorities such as the European Green Agreement, the digital era of Europe, a cancer action plan and an economy that works for people.
The Commission invites researchers and innovators, as well as citizens and all stakeholders to participate in five missions:
- Climate change adaptation: supporting at least 150 European regions and communities to become climate resilient by 2030
- Cancer: Improving the lives of over 3 million people by 2030 through prevention, treatment, and for cancer survivors, including their families, to live longer and better
- Rebuild our ocean and water by 2030
- 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030
- Soils Agreement for Europe: 100 Living Laboratories Leading the Transition to Healthy Soils by 2030
