A method for the treatment of residual and recurrent retinoblastomas localized postequatorially, which consists in the implementation of local chemotherapy (intravitreal injection of a cytostatic), 3-4 days after which laser coagulation of the infection is performed. Thus, the combination of two methods of direct local action on the tumor provides a synergistic effect, enhancing the effectiveness of each of them, sparing and safe, and in most cases allows achieving complete regression of tumor foci, saving the eye without involving systemic chemotherapy with its negative impact on the child’s body.
