Brief description, positive qualities, further prospects for application:

The objective of the study is to increase the fodder productivity of sown legume-grass stands of pasture, indirect pasture and slope use by selecting the species composition of cereals and legumes well adapted to the arid conditions of the Southern Steppe of Ukraine. For this purpose, for pasture use, the following grass mixtures are sown: comb rye + red fescue + horned bird, and for hay-bone and hay-pasture use, grass mixtures are sown, which include: couch grass + woolen regneria sandy sainfoin. The seeding rate of the legume component is 50% and the cereal components – 25% of the total. On the basis of the conducted studies, it was found that in order to obtain the earliest forage in the grass mixture, it is advisable to include mixed mud and mid-ripening cereal grasses, such as comb rye, couch grass and rough block regneria. The best options for grass mixtures contribute to an increase in the yield of green mass up to 0.34-4.63 t/ha and a dry matter yield of 6.30-7.48 t/ha. This allows you to create a high-quality grass stand during the growing season with productivity in the Southern Steppe of Ukraine up to 27.72-33.12 tons of green mass per hectare.
