Danubius Young Scientist Award 2023: competition for young scientists exploring the Danube region is open

The Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, together with the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe, has announced a competition for young scientists for 2023 to recognize scientific talents from the countries of the Danube region.

The Danubius Young Scientist Award is an award for young scientists (up to 5 years after completing an MA/PhD) that encourages research in the Danube region.

The award in the amount of 1350 euros will be given to one scientist from each of the 14 countries of the Danube region, including Ukraine. In addition, the winners will receive a personal invitation to visit one of the research centers in Ispri, Italy in 2024.

Candidates for the award are nominated by the scientific organization (higher education institution, scientific institution, academy of sciences, etc.) where they work or study. The selection will be made by an international jury.

Applications are submitted through the electronic system via the link until May 5, 2023 inclusive.
