Highly active catalyst for the synthesis of 1,3-butadiene from ethanol

Purpose. Implementation of an industrial process for the synthesis of 1,3-butadiene for the production of rubber and plastics from (bio)ethanol.

Specifications. Appearance – granules of a given fraction containing nanostructured zinc oxide, zirconium and silicon oxides.

  • The output of 1,3-butadiene 40-60% (depending on the composition of the initial mixture).
  • Productivity – 0.2-0.5 gBD gkat-1 h-1.

Application area. Chemical industry (production of rubber and plastics).

Advantages. The catalyst has a higher productivity than the known analogs, is easier to prepare, does not contain precious metals, water-ethanol mixtures can be the feedstock.
