The latest hybrid casting-SHS technology for the production of flat thin-walled bimetallic blanks.

Purpose. To ensure the formation of a reliable transition diffusion zone between different metals.

Technical specifications. A set of equipment for the simultaneous production of several products in one technological cycle, with increased reliability, maintainability and productivity. At the same time, the range of bimetallic products has been significantly expanded, their physical, mechanical and special properties have been increased.

Application area. Foundry, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, aircraft manufacturing, construction, energy.

Advantages. Methods have been developed to control the time parameters of ignition of the exothermic mixture and the speed of propagation of the solid-phase combustion wave. The chemical, fractional and quantitative composition of the exothermic mixture has been optimized. The most technologically advanced option for igniting the mixture has been determined. It is possible to produce flat thin-walled bimetallic products with a steel substrate thickness of 3 to 5 mm.

Technical and economic effect. The combination of traditional methods of foundry technologies and SHS processes makes it possible to obtain flat thin-walled bimetallic products with a 2.5-6.0 times increased service life under conditions of intense abrasive wear while reducing energy costs by 10%.

Description. The latest hybrid technology was created on the basis of generalized results of studies of the kinetics of the solid-phase combustion process under conditions of plane wave propagation, changes in the temperature of a rigid metal substrate, and the kinetics of the processes of pouring and hardening of the melt on a heated substrate. Certain optimal technological characteristics make it possible to obtain high-quality thin-walled wear-resistant bimetallic products.
