Spectromicropolarimeter for biomedical applications

Purpose. To develop new methods for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the most common human diseases (oncological diseases of epithelial tissues in the early preclinical stages of diagnosis (the state of the initial oncological process); collagen diseases; amyloid diseases; bone and degenerative-dystrophic diseases of humans).

Application area. Biology, medicine, optics.

Advantages. Non-invasiveness, rapidity, increased accuracy of results compared to other methods, compactness and ease of implementation of the method, comparative low cost of the device.

Description. The developed device allows for polarization-spectral measurements in systems for processing images of biological tissues both in vitro and visualization of pathologies in vivo. The micropolarimeter software allows you to calculate the statistical characteristics of images of biosamples and conduct their comprehensive digital analysis. Diagnostic results are visualized in digital and cartographic form on the monitor screen using original software. The spectromicropolarimeter device is simple and familiar for use in clinical settings thanks to its base (microscope), has high accuracy in determining spectral and polarization characteristics, and the ability to operate in the results not only with images of biological tissues, but also with spectral-polarization maps.
