Technology of acid cleaning of thermal power equipment from corrosion products and scale deposits using an eco-inhibitor

Purpose. Restoring the planned technological operating conditions of thermal power equipment, extending its residual life, ensuring savings in electricity and fuel resources, improves product quality and working conditions.

Specifications. Washing solution – 5% or 10% hydrochloric acid depending on the nature and thickness of deposits, eco-inhibitor at the rate of 1-3 kg/ton of technical acid (30-35%). Temperature range 20 – 40 oC, time range – depending on the amount of deposits. Circulation in a closed loop at a speed of 0.1 m/s.

Application area. Enterprises of the heat and power, oil and food industries.

Advantages. Compared to known technical solutions, the developed technology makes it possible to reduce material and energy costs, achieve more effective surface cleaning, and improve the environmental situation in industrial areas. The developed design provides savings in material, energy and labor costs. The excessive consumption of electricity with a thickness of the scale layer of 0.5 mm is 1.5% and 4-5% when the coolant temperature at the heat exchanger outlet increases by 1°C. Therefore, technical and economic indicators will be determined in each specific case and will directly depend on the amount of scale deposits removed. The use of an eco-inhibitor in the washing solution will have a positive effect on the ecological situation of the environment.

Description. A program and technological scheme for acid cleaning of condensers, compressors, evaporators using a synthesized eco-inhibitor based on extracts of plant raw materials has been developed. The main concentration, temperature and time regimes of the process and its analytical support have been determined. A 5% or 10% solution of hydrochloric acid with an eco-inhibitor (1…3 g/l) and a defoamer, circulating in a closed circuit, gradually dissolves scale deposits and corrosion products, which are carried into drain containers, where they are neutralized, or are discharged into the tank. ash dumps. The process is controlled by analytical determination of changes in acidity and total hardness of the washing solution. After dissolution is completed, the object is washed with a solution of soda and water. This technology ensures no harmful impact on the environment.
