Magnetocardiographic mapping technology

Purpose. Creation of a technology that allows recording the electrical activity of the heart based on non-contact registration of the magnetic component of the electromagnetic field of the heart over the human chest using ultra-sensitive Quantum Superconducting Interference Sensors (NKVID).

Specifications.

1) Basic: mapping area size 20×20 cm, scanning accuracy 2 mm, dynamic range 83 dB, transmission coefficient no less than 3 mV/pT, magnetic field resolution no more than 0.5 pT.

2) Operational: duration of signal recording at one spatial point 1 min, service life/storage 10 years, warranty period 1 year, duration of operation without refilling helium 7 days, failure handling – 2 thousand hours, power supply 220 V, 600 W.

3) Electronics: number of channels 5 (4 MCG and 1 ECG), recorder – PC or laptop, ADC – 16 bits, frequency 1000 Hz.

4) Parameters of MCG channels: NKVID type – direct current, magnetic resolution. flow 10 μF0/(Hz)1/2, where Ф0 is a magnetic flux quantum, repetition rate is 200 thousand F0/sec, frequency band (-3 dB) 20 kHz, output noise is less than 2 mV, channel composition is 2×2, step 4 cm.

Application area. Bioengineering, medical technology. Treatment and preventive institutions in the field of cardiology, medical rehabilitation, occupational and sports medicine, military medicine.

Advantages. Does not require electromagnetic (radio frequency) and magnetic shielding, does not require reference magnetometric channels, is quite economical in terms of liquid helium consumption (cryostat capacity is only 13 liters) with a fairly high throughput – 2 people per hour.

Technical and economic effect. The economic effect is a reduction in cost: 1) MCG complex up to 2.7 million UAH. (100 thousand US dollars), which is cheaper than foreign analogues, the cost of which is from 5.4 million UAH. ($200 thousand). 2) Installation in a medical institution, because there is no need for a magnetically shielded camera, the cost of which is from 13.5 million UAH. ($500 thousand). 3) Survey – from 270 UAH (10 US dollars) compared to foreign technologies, where the cost is from 2700 UAH. ($100).

Description. The technology includes the design, manufacture, maintenance and operation in the laboratory and in a medical institution of a hardware-software magnetocardiographic (MCG) complex. The technology allows contactless recording of the magnetic field of the human heart without harmful effects on the human body. A person is fixed on a moving bed alternately in 9 nodes of a 3×3 grid with a step of 8 cm, card registration lasts about 30 minutes. After recording MCG signals on a PC, they are digitally processed, interpolating 36 MCG signals in 6×6 grid nodes with a step of 4 cm, visualizing color maps of the magnetic field in an area of 20×20 cm above the human chest.
