The second competitive selection of scientific works and projects has been announced to strengthen the participation of Ukrainian organizations in the EU program “Horizon Europe”

The competitive selection of works and projects is financed by the external assistance instrument of the European Union to fulfill Ukraine’s obligations in the European Union Framework Program for Research and Innovation “Horizon 2020”.

Project proposals are accepted in thematic areas:

Direction 1: infrastructure projects;

Direction 2: scientific and technical work and scientific and technical projects;

Direction 3: scientific and technical projects aimed at supporting the innovative activities of higher education institutions and scientific institutions;

Direction 4: Scientific and technical projects of business entities that need to develop a feasibility study.

Main innovations of the Competition:

  1. increasing the volume of support for innovative projects and the development of the innovation ecosystem of Western Military Districts/NU;
  2. expansion of the circle of participants: Ukrainian participants of the Horizon Europe program will be able to fully participate in the competitive selection;
  3. preference for participants who, if they win the competition, also plan to apply for funding under the Horizon Europe program;
    1. preference for projects:
    2. the team of authors includes more young scientists;
    3. which will have a direct impact on the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine in the post-war period;
      in which scientists have been participating since 2014, after a long stay abroad, they returned and officially found work in Ukraine;
  4. holding the Competition in the new electronic module of the National Scientific Information System “URIS” (nauka.gov.ua);
  5. free planning of research stages, without strict connection to the completion of annual budget periods.

Submission of documents:

Documents for participation must be submitted electronically (scanned copies of originals in .pdf format) to the National Electronic Scientific Information System “URIS” via the link before 23:00. 59 min. – April 15, 2024.

The period for conducting scientific and scientific-technical examination cannot be more than 90 calendar days from the date of completion of the deadline for submitting applications to the Ministry of Education and Science.

The implementation of the winning projects is scheduled to begin in August 2024.
