Bone and intramedullary fixation designs for the treatment of fractures and bone injuries of the human musculoskeletal system

Purpose. For installation of fixing structures without the use of image intensifiers (electron-optical converters), carrying out rehabilitation measures in short periods, and performing surgical interventions in district hospitals.

Application area. Medicine (traumatology), rehabilitation of sick and wounded during combat operations, sports and industrial, domestic injuries, treatment of the consequences of road accidents.

Advantages. Simplicity and low cost of production compared to foreign analogues; low material consumption of the developed structures; reliability and stability of osteosynthesis using developed structures; practice-proven results of use.

Description. The development involves the creation of a number of extraosseous and intramedullary structures for fixation (osteosynthesis) of damage and fractures of long tubular bones for the purpose of reliable and stable fixation of fragments. The developed and proposed designs make it possible to create different types of osteosynthesis: static, dynamic, compression. The proposed and developed structures make it possible to effectively fix transverse diaphyseal, oblique, screw and comminuted fractures, as well as similar fractures of the proximal and distal part of the bone.
