Solar thermal photovoltaic collector

Purpose. The solar thermal photovoltaic collector is designed to obtain thermal and electrical energy from solar radiation.

Scope. Individual consumers, associations of co-owners of apartment buildings, and the military-industrial complex can be customers of these thermal photovoltaic collectors.

Advantages. Photovoltaic collectors of foreign and domestic production have only air cooling, which leads to overheating of the photovoltaic cells and loss of thermal energy into the environment. The advantages of the collector are the combined production of thermal and electrical energy, increased efficiency of photovoltaic cells and avoidance of stagnation typical of solar collectors.

Technical and economic effect. Experimental studies have shown that the proposed thermal photovoltaic collector allows obtaining a coolant with a temperature above 110 C, and the efficiency of the collector is 79%.

Description. The design of the collector allows the use of photovoltaic cells at low temperatures, which helps to increase their efficiency and increases the service life. This is very important, since the cost of photovoltaic cells is 80% of the cost of the solar system. The solar collector of the proposed design is completely autonomous. That is, regardless of the presence of external power supply, it can supply energy to the circulation pump, coolant cooling fan and other auxiliary devices. This allows avoiding overheating in stagnation mode.
