Obtaining and using melanin produced by the Antarctic black yeast-like fungi pseudonadsoniella brunnea

Purpose. Used as a prophylactic, immunomodulatory, and therapeutic agent in veterinary medicine: to relieve stress during vaccination; to reduce mortality during weaning of animals (pigs); to prevent enteritis in calves; to stimulate intestinal motility in dogs; to improve the immune status of animals under unfavorable epizootic conditions; to treat animals with gastric and duodenal ulcers; nonspecific enteritis, enterocolitis, colitis, pancreatitis, and oncological diseases.

Technical Properties. This dermatotropic drug with a complex effect is offered in the form of a soft dressing (carbopol gel with the active substance – melanin).

Scope. Medicine, veterinary medicine.

Advantages. Significant cost savings during the cultivation of the melanin producer significantly reduce the cost of the final product. Continuous process. This dermatotropic preparation prevents wound drying and infection, helps stop bleeding, and accelerates healing without the formation of a coarse keloid scar. Distinguishing features of this product from other dermatotropic preparations available on the Ukrainian market, which act in either the first or second (rarely the second and third) phases of wound healing, include the effectiveness of Carbopol gel with melanin in all phases of wound healing and wound healing without the formation of a coarse keloid scar. The obtained results allow for significant changes in the economics of obtaining Pseudonadsoniella brunnea biomass and synthesized melanin. There are no similar developments in Ukraine.
