TECHNOLOGY FOR ENRICHMENT OF IRON QUARTZITES WITH REDUCED WATER CONSUMPTION

PURPOSE:

For beneficiation of ferruginous quartzites.

DESCRIPTION:

Based on the study of the mechanics of suspensions, when the particles of the dispersed phase interact with the dispersion medium, mathematical models of wet separation processes were created, which became the basis for the development of a technology for enrichment of ferruginous quartzites, in particular magnetite, which provides a significant reduction in water consumption. The created technology provides for the establishment of scientifically substantiated values ​​of volumetric concentration in technological operations, inter-apparatus circulations of intermediate enrichment products for existing technological schemes and supply of purified return and freshwater to the final operations of each enrichment stage.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

    • reduction of water consumption up to 20 m3 per ton of concentrate;
    • reduction of electricity consumption by 10 kWh.

ADVANTAGES:

The use of the developed technological modes ensures the production of outflows of hydrocyclones of the second stage of enrichment with a mass fraction of the solid phase up to 30%, and outflows of the third stage of enrichment up to 25% due to the use of the developed two-stage hydraulic classification schemes. Such indicators, simultaneously with the rational distribution of water according to the methods of magnetic separation at each enrichment stage and the supply of the drains of the magnetic separators of the third enrichment stage to the grinding cycle of the first enrichment stage, which ensure a decrease in water consumption for the production of a ton of magnetite concentrate by about 2 times without reducing its quality.

TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC EFFECT:

    • payback period 1-3 years;
    • the cost and duration of design work depending on the required volume of research.
