POLYMER MATERIALS “GLIPOX” FOR PRODUCTION OF ULTRA THIN SOFT CONTACT LENSES

PURPOSE:

For vision correction; treatment of diseases, injuries and burns of the eye.

DESCRIPTION:

Blanks for the manufacture of contact lenses from the polymer material “Glipox” – solid blocks based on a mixture of methacrylic esters and polyvinylpyrrolidone. Operated in a hydrated state. The material in a dry state is characterized by high surface hardness and heat resistance, and is well suited for mechanical processing. Lenses are resistant to the action of detergents and disinfectants, withstand sterilization in water.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

    • Tensile strength 7 MPa, permeability for NaCl 265 mol · m 2 · h-1, water 0.08 m3 · m 2 · h-1.
    • Optical power of lenses – -25 … + 8 diopters.

ADVANTAGES:

The ability to manufacture ultra-thin lenses with a center thickness of up to 0.04 mm; high yield of quality lenses, increased lens permeability for oxygen and tears, enhanced mechanical properties, stable optical properties, ease of use.

RECOMMENDED FIELD OF APPLICATION:

Ophthalmology (corrective and therapeutic contact lenses, accommodative lenses).
