New knowledge about the features of the interaction of the endophytic microbiota of plants with phytopathogens has been obtained: the endophytic microbiota of plants is able to enter into complex relationships with phytopathogens, as a result of which they prevent the course of the infectious process caused by phytopathogens. The possibility of coexistence of saprophytic and phytopathogenic bacteria in the same ecological niche has been shown for the first time.

To search for bacteriophages present in insignificant minor amounts, a new original approach was proposed, which consists in releasing a minor part of phages by removing the population of prevailing phages and obtaining bacterial R-mutants resistant to them.

Methods for determining the effectiveness of the impact of antagonist bacteria on pathogenic agrobacteria at the stages of chemotaxis and attachment are proposed for the first time.

The results obtained form the basis for the development of new methods of plant protection against phytopathogens, which can be applied in agro-industrial production.
