Brief description, advantages, further prospects for application.

Sensor systems of a new generation have been developed for the quantitative determination of harmful organic emissions. Arrays of functionalized nanowires synthesized using PECVD and Langmuir-Blodgett technologies are ordered.

Arrays of parallel nanowires have all the advantages of sensors based on a single nanowire, however, the technologies used make it possible to simplify and reduce the cost of manufacturing, as well as avoid difficulties in forming reliable electrical nanocontacts, which is a fundamental technological problem in the production of sensors based on a single nanowire. The highly organized array of sensors minimizes problems associated with the random nature of the system based on randomly organized nanowire bundles and guarantees higher product reproducibility and industrial scalability. Tuning sensors for detecting specific organic agents is achieved by modifying nanowires with functional photosensitive receptors.
