A device for monitoring the dynamics of the functional state of an athlete

Purpose:

The device is designed to track an athlete’s readiness for the training and recovery process. Gives the coach the opportunity to obtain, based on the assessment of heart rate variability (HRV), indicators that integrally reflect the functional state of the athlete and affect his sports results.

Area:

Medicine. Physical culture and sport.

Advantages:

The closest analogue is the ECG complex “CARDIOLAB” with the ability to obtain and complete analysis of HRV parameters and the state of the autonomic nervous system (KHAI MEDIKA, Ukraine). Its main task is to study cardiac indicators based on cardiograms, to assess the state of the body based on SCD. Moreover, such a device is stationary and rather large. Its cost is over $ 1,000. The advantages of the proposed innovative development are a low price – about 50 USD, a convenient monitor size and a focus on the training process in the field of physical culture and sports (no unnecessary measurement parameters).

Description:

The operation of the device is based on the use of several methods for assessing HRV: the method of correlation rhythmography; the geometric method (building a histogram of the distribution of cardiointervals) of the method for assessing the tension of regulatory systems using the Baevsky tension index. The device calculates and displays on the indicator in the upper left corner the value of each pulse interval in the “number of beats per minute” format. After that, it calculates and displays on the indicator in the lower right corner the current value of the number of processed pulse intervals and calculates their transit periods. In the process of measuring the heart rate, it builds a scaterogram, and after the end of the measurement, it builds a histogram of the distribution of cardiointervals. Calculates and displays the Baevsky tension index on the indicator in the upper right corner.
